About Temple

Sri Banashankari Temple located at Sri S. Kariyappa road, Bengalore is one among many popular temples of the state. This temple belongs to 20th century and was established around 106 years ago. Sri Banasahankari is the original deity, Sculpted and installed by the devotees. The Anjaneyaswamy (deity) idol, inside the AnjaneyaSwamy temple of the Banshankari Temple complex is said to be naturally evolved (swayambhu) from stone/rock.
The area/place is called Banashankari because of this temple.The government took over the temple in the year 1984 and in 2010, the Religious endowment Department( HRICE) renovated the temple. There are no inscriptions and other evidences to establish the history. However, the engraving on the pillars relates the temple to Shiva Parivara.... View
